~ Preservation Prevails Over Profit ~

Does it matter? Well, if you're really curious...
Call me Nick. I am at least 18 years of age and I reside in the United States (East Coast).
In case I have not made that clear: no.Why, you may ask?
I purchase everything with my own funds and physical media prices can range from single-digit values to three figures depending on the film or edition of said film. I currently live on my own and do not have infinite disposable income to dedicate to this project.Additionally, I am not interested in taking any financial donations as I refuse to make any profit from this project... for obvious reasons.
Therefore, any requests to upload any logos or DVD/Blu-Ray openings of any media will be respectfully declined for the reasons above.
I currently use the following:
- a desktop PC with a DVD/Blu-Ray drive
- VLC media player or Media Player Classic to play back DVDs or Blu-Rays
- OBS Studio for screen recording
- my PlayStation 3 to play back certain Blu-Rays (capture card coming soon)
COMPUTER: For starters, any modern laptop or desktop that is capable of recording footage with OBS Studio can do the trick.
There are fantastic deals (often under $300) on used laptops on eBay (if you live in the United States) such as Dell Latitude or ThinkPad laptops. If you prefer investing in desktops, used Dell OptiPlex PCs provide adequate performance for an extreme value (usually $100 or more, depending on the specifications).Do keep in mind that having an external/second monitor or connecting your computer to your TV while recording your DVD/Blu-Ray footage makes things easier as you are able to have the movie in full screen on one monitor and OBS Studio monitoring the recording on the other.DVD/BD DRIVE: Considering almost no laptops have DVD drives anymore, you would want something like this (what I started with).
External Blu-Ray drives such as this one will be considerably more expensive, however.
Absolutely!
